Описание вакансии
Текст:
TL;DR
Staff Analyst, Methods (Aerospace): Analyzing and testing rotor systems, control systems, blades, and other critical aircraft structures for an all-electric VTOL aircraft with an accent on finite element analysis, fatigue life prediction, and metallic and composite structures. Focus on evaluating static strength and dynamic response, supporting ground and flight testing, developing structural-analysis best practices, and collaborating on high-performance rotor and propeller blades.
Location: San Jose, California, United States. Requires up to 10% travel to or supplier facilities.
Base pay: $15,000–$190,000 per year, depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Company
develops, manufactures, and operates all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft for sustainable air mobility.
What you will do
- Perform structural analyses of rotor systems, control systems, blades, and other dynamic aircraft components.
- Evaluate static strength, fatigue life, damage tolerance, and dynamic response using hand calculations and finite element analysis.
- Author structural substantiation reports and technical documentation.
- Support component ground and flight testing, including test requirements, instrumentation, and data reduction.
- Develop structural-analysis best practices and mentor less-experienced team members.
- Collaborate with aerodynamics, loads and dynamics teams, customers, and suppliers on rotor and propeller blade development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience designing and analyzing critical aircraft structures.
- Proficiency with ANSYS, NASTRAN, or other finite element software.
- Knowledge of fatigue and damage tolerance in composite structures and high- and low-cycle fatigue in metallic components.
- Ability to read engineering drawings, interpret CAD models, and perform CAD design; NX is preferred.
- Strong technical, written, and verbal communication skills and experience in a fast-paced design environment.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree or 10+ years of rotorcraft dynamic-systems experience.
- Experience with ground and flight testing of critical composite aerospace structures.
- Familiarity with FAA rotorcraft and aircraft loads and dynamics regulations and certification efforts.
- Experience with static and dynamic loads derivation, aeroelastic analysis, Python, or Matlab scripting.
Culture & Benefits
- Pay-for-performance culture with compensation tied to knowledge, skills, experience, and performance.
- Inclusive workplace focused on diversity, equity, and accessibility.
- Reasonable accommodations are available throughout the application and hiring process.
