What you will do

• Define the architectural vision for a consolidated service landscape supporting Risk, Compliance, Finance, and Supply Chain domains.
• Lead service consolidation by identifying redundant systems and executing technical strategies to migrate workloads.
• Design and build reusable core capabilities, including case management, workflow orchestration, and event streaming.
• Establish and enforce engineering standards for API contracts, observability, and data governance across teams.
• Partner with Forward Deployed Engineering teams to ensure domain-specific solutions are integrated into the central platform.
• Utilize LLMs and agentic architectures to accelerate engineering delivery and system design.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years in technical leadership or architect roles.
• Proven track record of simplifying complex service architectures and decommissioning legacy services in production.
• Deep expertise in building platforms used by multiple teams and business domains.
• Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Temporal, Airflow, or custom engines.
• Ability to write production-quality code and perform rigorous design reviews.
• Must be located in Canada.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kubernetes, Kafka, Temporal, GraphQL, Go, Java, or Ruby.
• Background in financial services, risk/compliance, or payment systems.
• Familiarity with AI-powered decision systems and LLM-based automation in production.
• Experience reducing operational costs through platform consolidation.
