What you will do

• Implement clean, scalable, and optimized solutions for character rigging and skinning.
• Ensure exceptional visual fidelity, deformation integrity, and runtime performance.
• Develop high-impact automation and tooling solutions to improve efficiency and consistency.
• Educate and mentor junior and mid-level Technical Artists through documentation and best practices.
• Collaborate with Technical Art, Animation, and Character Art partners to align on technical direction.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience working in proprietary internal game engines and development environments.
• Expertise in rigging and skinning characters using Maya.
• Proficiency in Python for writing artist/animator-facing tools in a large production environment.
• Strong communication skills for effective cross-team collaboration.
• Must be based in or able to work hybrid in Los Angeles, Madison, or Vancouver

Nice to have

• Familiarity with USD (Universal Scene Description).
• Knowledge of physics-based animation.
• Experience in live service content production.
• Strong mathematical foundation for troubleshooting and optimizing 3D deformations.
