What you will do

• Design, build, and own high-quality backend features and systems for Cash App Taxes filing, from federal/state form logic to e-file submission.
• Translate complex tax rules into clean, maintainable, and well-tested code in close partnership with Tax Product Specialists.
• Build tools and guardrails that let non-technical contributors make safe code changes while maintaining quality standards.
• Drive architectural and design decisions to keep the tax software scalable, secure, and maintainable.
• Write reliable, well-tested code and establish best practices for coding, testing, deployment, and documentation.
• Collaborate with QA, Cloud Platform, Design, Product, Customer Care, and other teams to deliver cohesive solutions; identify and resolve accuracy, reliability, and performance issues.

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional software development experience in a fast-paced or product-centric environment.
• Strong backend development skills, including system design, architecture, and object-oriented programming.
• Proven ability to deliver reliable, high-quality software on schedule.
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and methodical debugging and implementation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience.
