What you will do

• Solve large-scale business problems by designing and supporting the semantic layer that converts semantic queries into high-performance SQL.
• Create architecture and influence roadmap for semantic modeling including metrics, dimensions, relationships, and governance.
• Ensure correctness, performance, and scalability of semantic queries over petabyte-scale data.
• Collaborate with Cortex and AI teams to integrate semantic layer with natural-language and agent-driven analytics.
• Mentor engineers and raise technical standards across the team.
• Maintain operational readiness and meet commitments on availability and performance.

Requirements

• Must have 15+ years of experience in large-scale data or systems software engineering.
• Strong computer science fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, and complexity analysis.
• Deep expertise in query compilation, database internals, semantic layers, or BI analytics infrastructure.
• Strong SQL semantics and relational modeling skills with focus on correctness.
• Fluency in Java or similar object-oriented language preferred.
• Ability to work effectively across multiple engineering teams and locations.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science required; Masters or PhD preferred.
