Technical Hardware Product Manager

What you will do

• Define and execute multi-year product strategies for communication hardware, in-vehicle video, and license plate recognition.
• Own the end-to-end hardware product lifecycle from ideation and prototyping through field validation, regulatory compliance, and volume production.
• Write product definitions and detailed technical requirements for on-vehicle communication gateways, in-vehicle video systems, LPR cameras, and antennas.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, embedded software, and systems engineers; coordinate with supply chain, operations, and manufacturing on build/partner/buy and quality control.
• Capture field and customer feedback, lead triage of hardware/connectivity issues, and support early deployments and pilot programs.
• Lead technical discussions on imaging performance, low-light optimization, thermal management, onboard storage, bandwidth utilization, and connectivity/OTA choices; ensure compliance with relevant standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of product management experience in hardware systems, including at least 3 years focused on imaging or sensor technology.
• Deep understanding of camera systems, optics, video compression (H.264/H.265), and edge video analytics.
• Strong working knowledge of 4G/5G LTE, Wi-Fi, GPS, and other wireless technologies.
• Experience designing vehicle-mounted or extreme-environment hardware products, including field-deployed ruggedized devices and OTA software/firmware updates.
• Ability to work hands-on with engineers across electrical, mechanical, and software; ability to write PRDs and debug pilot issues; comfortable in fast-paced cross-disciplinary environments.
