Appian Business Analyst

TL;DR

Appian Business Analyst (Appian): Partner with Appian product teams to discover, model, and refine solution requirements for Appian applications, with an accent on process reengineering, data modeling, and user story acceptance criteria. Focus on running discovery workshops, collaborating with architects and product dev managers on MVP/release planning, and delivering user engagement analytics to support product decisions.

Location: McLean, VA (Remote; ability to work east coast hours as needed)

Salary: $74,230.00 - $142,250.00

What you will do

• Support Product Dev Managers in defining MVP scope and release plans for Appian applications/products.
• Conduct requirement discovery, process improvement/reengineering analysis, process design, and data/interface requirement discovery for BPM and UI needs.
• Run discovery workshops with customer stakeholders to collect and document solution requirements.
• Collaborate with Product Dev Managers and technology stakeholders to define new/enhanced requirements and functionality, and support feature prioritization within the product roadmap.
• Author user stories with detailed acceptance criteria; refine requirements using user engagements, sprint showcases, and demos; prepare estimates for the product backlog.
• Manage risks, perform formal review/acceptance of implemented user stories, and design/implement complex data models; use TFS, Jira, and GitHub for project responsibilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience performing business analysis and refining requirements for information systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication across organizational levels.
• Experience with process-based documentation methods (use cases, Agile user stories, and process modeling).
• US citizenship required to obtain and maintain required federal government security clearance if needed.
• Remote role with ability to work east coast hours as needed.

• 1+ years of hands-on Appian solution implementation experience.
