TL;DR

Director, Project Management (Media): Leading the execution and delivery of a large-scale project portfolio across NBCU News Group with an accent on governance, financial discipline, and contractor management. Focus on translating strategic priorities into executable workstreams and optimizing the project lifecycle from intake to archive.

Location: Hybrid in New York, NY (minimum 4 days per week in office)

Salary: $155,000 - $185,000 yearly

What you will do

• Manage a team of contracted Project Managers, Technical Project Managers, and Coordinators, overseeing recruitment and performance.
• Lead the News Group project portfolio, including CAPX budgeting, intake, prioritization, and risk management.
• Partner with SVP and RVP leadership to synthesize complex technical projects into clear objectives tracked in Jira.
• Establish and enforce governance protocols across the full project lifecycle using both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
• Coordinate dependencies across internal hirify.global teams and external vendors to ensure successful outcomes.
• Facilitate Project Management townhalls and drive training matrix certifications.

Requirements

• B.S. or B.A. degree in Business, Computer Science/Engineering or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience directing Technical Project Teams using Waterfall and Agile.
• Proven experience managing large project portfolios (100+ initiatives) including broadcast technical builds.
• Strong financial acumen in budgeting, forecasting, and resource capitalization.
• Experience with executive-level reporting and presentations.
• Must be based in or able to work from the New York office 4 days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience in the media and entertainment industry and related technical workflows.
• Proficiency in Jira, Microsoft Office Suite, Power BI, and Smartsheet.
• Certifications such as PMP, CAPM, PgMP, CSM, or Prosci Change Management.
• Experience implementing Agile frameworks and governance best practices within a PMO.
