Chief Technology Officer (Energy)

Location: Remote (Germany-wide), with offices in Hamburg, Berlin, or Munich.

hirify.global is building the energy system of the future by integrating solar, batteries, heat pumps, and e-mobility into a virtual power plant controlled by Heartbeat AI.

What you will do

• Shape the organization's technical strategy and drive innovation efforts.
• Lead architectural direction to deliver scalable, maintainable, and state-of-the-art solutions.
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions and resolve deep technical challenges.
• Build and scale a high-performance tech organization and engineering culture.
• Drive the transformation to agentic engineering, ensuring agents execute safely while humans remain accountable.
• Architect systems and APIs to support AI agents as first-class users.

Requirements

• Must be based in Germany for remote work or office attendance.
• Extensive hands-on experience in software development with multiple programming languages (5+ years).
• Proven track record of architecting scalable, secure systems and designing complex APIs.
• Strong experience driving cross-functional teams and enforcing engineering alignment.
• English: C1+ required; German proficiency is a plus.
• Experience guiding teams through the shift to agentic engineering.
