What you will do

• Develop and implement a comprehensive public affairs strategy aligned with MCSC's overall strategic goals.
• Lead and mentor a team of public affairs professionals, effectively allocating resources to achieve objectives.
• Manage media relations, including responding to inquiries and overseeing the release of official information.
• Plan and execute high-profile events such as press conferences, briefings, and community outreach initiatives.
• Oversee crisis communication plans and advise senior management on controversial and time-sensitive issues.
• Evaluate program effectiveness to ensure cost-effective multi-media communication techniques are employed.

Requirements

• Must possess or be able to acquire and maintain a Secret security clearance.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in public affairs, communications, or a related field.
• Mandatory experience in DoD Public Affairs (experience with USMC is preferred).
• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
• Proven project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reports, speeches, and press releases.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in a related field.
• Relevant certifications in public relations, crisis communication, or project management.
• Experience with media monitoring tools such as Meltwater or Cision.
• Knowledge of government regulations and procurement processes.
