What you will do

• Own architecture decisions for core services and integrations to balance scalability, security, and maintainability.
• Lead end-to-end delivery of complex features from specification through production rollout.
• Collaborate with product and compliance teams to ensure solutions meet regulatory requirements.
• Drive technical standards, code quality, and observability practices across the organization.
• Mentor senior engineers and cultivate a pragmatic engineering culture.
• Participate in incident response and define operational runbooks for service reliability.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience in startup or scale-up settings.
• Deep expertise in system design, distributed systems, and API-driven architectures.
• Proficiency in at least two of Java, Kotlin, TypeScript, JavaScript, or Python.
• Proven track record of making architectural trade-offs to improve delivery and resilience.
• Experience in regulated domains (accounting, payroll, or tax systems) is strongly preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical specifications.
