What you will do

• Monitor endpoints and triage security alerts, supporting incidents through to full resolution and root cause analysis.
• Investigate potential malware and suspicious activity across the technology estate.
• Perform proactive threat hunting to identify weaknesses, emerging risks, and active threats.
• Reduce alert fatigue by tuning detections, prioritizing alerts, and improving operational processes.
• Act as a subject matter expert in a core security domain such as network monitoring or Microsoft security tooling.
• Participate in an on-call rota (currently one week in every five) and support major incident management.

Requirements

• Experience working in a Security Operations (SOC) or Incident Response (IR) environment.
• Working knowledge of detection engineering, including indicators of compromise (IOCs) and alert tuning.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft security tools to investigate threats and document findings.
• Ability to coach and guide less-experienced technical colleagues to build a strong security culture.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and staying informed about real-world cyber threats.

Nice to have

• Experience or strong interest in building automation or playbooks to improve SOC efficiency.
