What you will do

• Own the double-entry accounting ledger and ensure correctness under high concurrency and failure scenarios.
• Design and lead systems for complex billing, metering, and revenue recognition.
• Build robust reconciliation controls to support daily financial closing and external audits.
• Partner with Finance and Accounting teams to translate revenue policies into precise system behavior.
• Drive technical direction, perform design reviews, and provide mentorship to the engineering team.
• Maintain high operational rigor with strong observability and low incident noise.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience building backend services with strong consistency and durability guarantees.
• Deep expertise in financial or transactional systems, including ledgers, billing, or revenue recognition.
• Fluency in Python or Go.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident for FedRAMP compliance.
• Must be able to work onsite in San Mateo, CA, five days per week.
• Proven track record of partnering with non-engineering stakeholders to translate complex policy into technical systems.
