What you will do
- Design and deliver operational propulsion test stands from concept through commissioning, including mechanical and fluid systems.
- Develop structural hardware and high-pressure fluid systems meeting demanding propulsion testing requirements.
- Architect and integrate instrumentation, DAQ, and control systems to provide reliable flight-critical measurements.
- Lead assembly, shakedown testing, and the safe execution of engine test campaigns.
- Partner with Performance Engineering to analyze results and resolve technical issues through root-cause investigation.
- Automate test operations to increase reliability, throughput, and operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience designing, building, and operating complex propulsion or mechanical test systems.
- Strong technical foundation in high-pressure fluid systems and high-speed DAQ in accordance with ASME B31.3 or equivalent standards.
- Ability to lawfully access information and technology subject to U.S. export controls.
- Proven ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary technical teams during test events.
Nice to have
- Direct experience testing turbo machinery, gas turbines, or jet engines.
- Experience with advanced sensing technologies, such as fiber optic instrumentation.
- Proficiency with PLCs, industrial controls, and integrated test control systems.
- Familiarity with vibration, NVH, and propulsion performance characterization.
- Experience working in fast-paced R&D or first-of-a-kind hardware development environments.
