Physicist / Engineer (m/f/d) Particle Beam Technology / Semiconductor Control (Semiconductor)

Location: Heimstetten, Germany, near Munich; possibility to work remotely; relocation eligible.

Salary: €70,400–€96,800 per year.

What you will do

• Develop novel particle beam systems and next-generation electron beam columns for semiconductor inspection and metrology.
• Define system requirements and specifications, troubleshoot system problems, and evaluate new technologies.
• Plan and conduct laboratory tests of new technologies on prototypes.
• Collect and analyze data and design statistically valid experiments.
• Guide less experienced physicists and scientists while collaborating with a multidisciplinary international R&D team.
• Coordinate with engineers and suppliers to support efficient manufacturing of complex R&D modules and drive supplier excellence.

Requirements

• Scientific or technical degree, preferably a doctorate in physics or a comparable discipline such as physical technology or optics.
• Practical experience designing, constructing, and operating particle beam systems.
• Systematic, analytical, and goal-oriented approach to work.
• Flexibility and readiness for interdisciplinary work.
• Ability and willingness to collaborate closely with specialist departments and high-performing engineering teams.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of electron microscopy, including SEM/TEM, and electron optics.
• Knowledge of ultra-high vacuum and high-voltage technology.
