Location: Heimstetten near Munich, Germany; remote work is possible. Relocation eligible.

Salary: €70,400–€96,800 per year

What you will do

• Develop novel particle beam systems for semiconductor inspection and metrology.
• Define system requirements and specifications and troubleshoot system problems.
• Plan and conduct laboratory tests of new technologies on prototypes.
• Collect and analyze data and design statistically valid experiments.
• Evaluate new technologies and develop innovative solutions.
• Guide less experienced physicists and scientists while collaborating with an international multidisciplinary R&D team.

Requirements

• Scientific or technical degree, preferably a doctorate in physics or a comparable discipline such as physical technology or optics.
• Practical experience designing, constructing, and operating particle beam systems.
• Systematic, analytical, and goal-oriented working style.
• Flexibility and readiness for interdisciplinary work.
• Experience with electron microscopy, electron optics, ultra-high vacuum, and high-voltage technology is desirable.
