Staff DevOps Engineer (AWS)

What you will do

• Shape the long-term technical strategy and advocate for optimal technical solutions and tradeoffs in planning sessions.
• Lead the design and operation of full-lifecycle cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaaC).
• Establish and evolve organization-wide CI/CD strategies to increase software quality and delivery speed.
• Ensure systems align with CMS/NIST quality and compliance standards to maintain Authority to Operate (ATO).
• Mentor engineers and lead critical cross-cutting projects across multiple teams.
• Collaborate with government partners to ensure software meets security, SLA, and performance requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 9+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Expert-level mastery of AWS Cloud Services, including EKS and Kubernetes cluster architecture.
• Expert knowledge of Terraform/Terragrunt, including module design and multi-environment state management at scale.
• Expertise in designing and troubleshooting complex CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Argo CD.
• Experience with HAProxy/OpenResty in production environments.
• U.S. citizenship or current legal authorization to work and reside in the United States without employer sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience operating across both DevOps and SRE functions.
• Expertise with observability tooling such as Datadog.
• Experience with security tooling like Trivy or Aqua and navigating the FedRAMP/ATO process.
• Proven experience mentoring other engineers.
