Principal AI Engineer (Agentic AI & MCP): Architect, develop, and operationalize next-generation agentic systems powered by advanced LLMs and Model Context Protocol (MCP) frameworks, with an accent on multi-step tool-using agents and production-grade orchestration. Focus on designing agent orchestration frameworks, integrating model-driven decision logic, and safely deploying scalable AI capabilities in cloud environments.

Location: Fully Remote (Eastern Time zone). Expected hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern.

Salary: $143,600 - $200,000

What you will do

• Architect, develop, and operationalize agentic AI systems using advanced LLMs and MCP frameworks.
• Build intelligent multi-step, tool-using agents that can reason, plan, and execute complex workflows.
• Design and implement agent orchestration frameworks and integrate model-driven decision logic.
• Deploy production-grade agent capabilities with safe use of emerging AI techniques.
• Lead technical discussions and translate experimental architectures into real-world impact with engineering and product teams.

Requirements

• Public trust clearance through the U.S. Federal Government (U.S. citizenship or eligibility via the Foreign National Government System, including living in the U.S. for at least 3 of the previous 5 years, plus valid passport and appropriate visa/work permit documentation).
• Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience building and supporting production applications/platforms/services.
• Experience developing agentic AI solutions (planning, tool utilization, workflow orchestration, multi-step reasoning, autonomous task execution).
• Experience designing and implementing MCP integrations and tool interfaces.
• Strong Python skills and experience with APIs, microservices, distributed computing, and cloud-native architectures (Azure/AWS/GCP), plus MLOps/LLMOps practices.
