What you will do

• Architect and build autonomous multi-agent systems using LLMs, RAG, and reinforcement learning.
• Translate physical constraints (mass, thermal, radiation) into programmatic guardrails for AI agents.
• Implement automated CAE and FEA workflows for autonomous design validation.
• Connect AI agents to engineering tools (CAD, FEA, CAM) via MCP and custom APIs.
• Deploy and scale AI workloads on AWS using containerized architectures.
• Develop evaluation frameworks to measure agent performance and design reliability.

Requirements

• 2+ years of software engineering experience in aerospace, defense, or manufacturing sectors.
• Strong proficiency in Python and experience with AWS architecture.
• Deep understanding of LLM fundamentals, prompt engineering, and structured outputs.
• Expertise in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering fundamentals and materials science.
• Ability to programmatically apply GD&T and NASA/aerospace engineering standards.
• Location: Must be based within 100 miles of Alexandria, VA or Philadelphia, PA.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in TypeScript.
• Experience with agentic libraries like Pydantic AI and Model Context Protocol (MCP).
• Knowledge of RL, uncertainty quantification, or reduced-order models.
• Open-source contributions to AI libraries or a portfolio of deployed LLM applications.
