Technology Development Foundry Engineering – Staff Yield Engineer (Semiconductor)

Location: Hybrid work model with on-site attendance at an assigned hirify.global site in the United States. Primary location: Hillsboro, Oregon. Additional locations: Phoenix, Arizona; Folsom and Santa Clara, California; Austin, Texas.

Annual salary: $155,520–$255,200 USD, depending on location, skills, experience, and education.

What you will do

• Serve as the yield point of contact for foundry customer silicon from design through initial high-volume manufacturing.
• Define yield goals, roadmaps, projections, and defect-density estimates for test chips, shuttles, and products.
• Collaborate with process integration, device, defect metrology, laboratory, and product integration teams to identify yield detractors and enhancement opportunities.
• Develop yield models using inline process metrics, non-process changes, parametric losses, and defect losses.
• Analyze logic, SRAM, inline, e-test, and SORT data; establish correlations for inline control and end-of-line projection.
• Lead yield investigations, root-cause analysis, DOE and skew-split planning, and operational improvements with internal stakeholders and external customers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, materials science, physics, chemical engineering, or a related engineering or physical science discipline with 6+ years of relevant experience; or a master’s degree with 4+ years; or a PhD with 2+ years of industry experience.
• Relevant experience in semiconductor yield engineering or post-silicon yield signal analysis and root-cause investigation.
• Experience with semiconductor yield analysis, yield pareto, projections, and yield-roadmap construction.
• Experience interpreting inline, e-test, and SORT data, identifying failure root causes, and driving corrective solutions.
• Knowledge of inline inspection methods, electrical test structures, and SORT programs.
• Experience with foundry teams or foundry-customer yield collaboration is preferred.
