What you will do

• Design and implement Android system services and framework extensions for Camera HAL using Binder/AIDL.
• Define security architecture, least-privilege access models, and maintain robust SELinux policies.
• Architect complete Android boot sequences from bootloader to application launch and optimize startup reliability.
• Design factory provisioning, first-boot experiences, and secure onboarding flows.
• Develop OTA update architecture including A/B updates and rollback strategies.
• Perform architecture reviews and provide technical leadership to guide teams toward robust solutions.

Requirements

• 10+ years of Android platform and embedded Linux development experience.
• Deep expertise in AOSP internals, Binder IPC, AIDL/HIDL, and SELinux.
• Strong programming skills in C/C++, Rust, Java, Kotlin, Python, and Shell.
• Experience with Android framework modifications and system-level debugging.
• Must be based in or able to work onsite in San Francisco, CA, 5 days a week.

Nice to have

• Experience with Qualcomm platforms.
• Expertise in Camera subsystem, ISP pipelines, and Camera HAL3.
• Knowledge of Verified Boot, AVB, TrustZone, TEE, and CTS/VTS/GTS certification.
• Experience supporting large-scale commercial Android products.
