TL;DR
AI Applied Software Engineer (Backend): Building and evolving backend architecture for a digital banking platform with an accent on AI-assisted engineering workflows and full product delivery ownership. Focus on designing and implementing microservices, integrating enterprise systems, and ensuring security, performance, and scalability while collaborating across frontend, QA, and architects.
Location: Kraków (hybrid) — 2 times per week from the office

What you will do
- Develop new and existing backend functionalities, proof of concepts, and technical improvements for the Digital Banking Platform.
- Own the full software development life cycle for the digital banking product suite, from idea to release.
- Collaborate proactively with architects and QA engineers to implement solutions aligned with technical vision and best practices.
- Work with a modern full-stack mindset by contributing to frontend components when needed, using AI coding assistants and modern workflows.
- Deliver product increments through Scrum with two-week sprints and monthly releases.
Requirements
- Live in Kraków or nearby area and be willing to work hybrid (2 days per week in the office).
- Strong software development background with design experience.
- Experience with Java, Spring, Maven, and CI/CD.
- Experience with microservices; Netflix OSS is a plus.
- Knowledge of relational databases and non-functional requirements (security, performance, scalability).
- Solid understanding of Enterprise Integration Patterns.
- Excellent English communication skills (spoken and written).
