Civil Senior Engineering Technician (Substation)

TL;DR

Civil Senior Engineering Technician (Civil Infrastructure): Developing high-quality engineering deliverables for Grid Solutions projects, including substations and overhead transmission lines, with an accent on site development and utility layouts. Focus on creating grading designs, erosion control, and underground utilities using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MicroStation.

Location: Hybrid (US). Must be based in or able to work from one of the listed US offices (KS, MI, TX, CO, FL, AZ, NC, OR).

Salary: $46.60 - $77.81 per hour (Colorado range)

What you will do

• Perform advanced technical tasks to create and modify site plans, grading designs, and utility layouts.
• Utilize digital tools including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Bentley MicroStation to produce technical documentation and project deliverables.
• Provide technical guidance, consultation, and training to other engineering technicians to ensure quality and consistency.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure deliverables comply with applicable codes and standards.
• Manage drawing control, maintain historical project records, and perform design calculations and material quantity takeoffs.
• Coordinate project design requirements, progress, and schedules with other design groups.

Requirements

• Associate Degree in Drafting or an Engineering Design Related Technology is required.
• Minimum of 11 years of related work experience.
• Must be based in the United States.
• Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding, including criminal background checks and drug screens.
• Advanced proficiency in industry-standard design tools (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation).

• Bachelor Degree in an Engineering Design Related Technology.
