Engineering Manager (DevOps)

TL;DR

Engineering Manager (DevOps): Leading a team of five to own infrastructure and pipeline delivery with an accent on progressive delivery and internal platform maturity. Focus on enabling autonomous shipping, implementing multi-region architectures, and maintaining high-scale AWS systems.

Location: Remote or based in Columbus, OH. Distributed throughout the United States, select Canadian provinces, the United Kingdom, and Australia.

What you will do

• Design golden-path workflows using Terraform and Kubernetes/Docker to enable self-service infrastructure provisioning and safe releases via GitLab CI/CD.
• Lead the strategy and execution for AWS disaster recovery plans, including scaling to multi-region architectures and cross-region data replication.
• Implement Site Reliability Objectives (SLOs), error budgets, and chaos testing in Datadog to increase system reliability.
• Mentor and develop a diverse team of DevOps engineers, DBAs, and SecOps engineers.
• Partner with Product Engineering and Data teams to align roadmaps and unlock development velocity.
• Maintain a hands-on role (at least 50% of time) writing Terraform modules, optimizing Helm charts, and debugging production incidents.

Requirements

• 2+ years of DevOps leadership experience managing SRE or DevOps teams.
• 7+ years of hands-on experience in platform or infrastructure roles.
• Proven track record of delivering internal platforms that empower engineers to ship autonomously.
• Deep AWS expertise in designing and operating multi-region, high-throughput systems.
• Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and advanced CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI or similar).
• Strong understanding of observability (Datadog) and cloud security compliance (PCI, SOC 2, GDPR).
