Construction & Implementation Technician I

TL;DR

Construction & Implementation Technician I (Telecommunications): Build, construct, install, test, and turn up network facilities and delivery architecture for video, voice, and data services with an accent on outside/inside plant work and network integrity across Alaska. What you will do

• Construct, design, and implement network facilities and delivery architecture to maintain network integrity.
• Install, modify, test, and turn up video, voice, and data circuits and equipment (including terrestrial, satellite, microwave, optical, hybrid fiber coax, and ethernet).
• Install and support racks/cabinets and cabling infrastructure for central, remote, and field offices.
• Read and apply system maps, equipment readings, test parameters, and engineering drawings; update work orders and follow-up documentation.
• Coordinate and oversee contract resources (installers, technicians, electricians, HVAC contractors).
• Provide daily reporting and communication using PC/mobile tools, including written and photo site documentation.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in a telecommunications role (including at least 1 year of complex related network experience).
• Ability to complete and maintain required training/certifications after hire (e.g., Pole/Tower Climber, AK DOT Bucket Truck, AK DOT Approved Flagger).
• Must be able to drive for the role: valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, satisfactory driving record, and completion of Defensive Driving course.
• Statewide travel in Alaska may be required, including occasional travel to the lower 48.
• Must follow OSHA and company safety guidelines, including working at heights and fall protection requirements.
