Asylum Services Navigator

TL;DR

Asylum Services Navigator (Social Services): Supporting asylum seekers and migrants in navigating the U.S. asylum system and accessing essential services with an accent on client intake and resource navigation. Focus on conducting comprehensive needs assessments, facilitating referrals to legal and healthcare services, and managing client data.

Location: Must live in Washington State and be available to travel for work. Position is open exclusively to internal candidates based in IRC Spokane and Seattle offices.

Compensation: $28–$29.50 per hour

What you will do

• Conduct comprehensive intake interviews and determine program eligibility for asylum seekers and migrants.
• Provide accurate information regarding the asylum process, legal rights, and available community resources.
• Develop individualized service plans and facilitate referrals to housing, healthcare, and legal aid.
• Assess immediate health, safety, and shelter needs to trigger urgent crisis response.
• Maintain accurate client demographic data and service plans using electronic management systems.
• Support the front desk by assisting walk-in clients.

Requirements

• Relevant degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Demonstrated excellence as an Asylum Services Navigator in the WA MASS Project.
• Experience in case management or social services working with vulnerable populations.
• Must live in Washington State.
• Valid driver’s license and insurance.
• Advanced technological proficiency and ability to master new client management software.

Nice to have

• Lived experience as an asylee, refugee, or immigrant.
• Fluency in Spanish, French, or Portuguese.
• Experience with virtual case management and data collection.
