What you will do
- Oversee and manage one or more frontline oncology nurse teams, ensuring high standards of clinical care and operational efficiency.
- Handle clinical escalations, provide ongoing training, coaching, and mentoring, and drive team productivity and performance.
- Lead team meetings (e.g., weekly huddles) to manage queues, prioritization, and performance; establish targeted support plans.
- Provide clinical expertise for medical, behavioral, and crisis management; support symptom management, nutritional support, discharge coordination, and preventing readmissions.
- Monitor quality and productivity metrics, address issues via performance improvement plans, and support root-cause analyses for knowledge/data/procedure gaps.
- Support culturally competent care, health literacy improvement, and contribute to updating staffing requirements, policies, and procedures.
Requirements
- Location: Nashville, TN
- BSN required (ADN acceptable; BSN preferred) and a multi-state, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) compact license; willingness to obtain additional state licenses as needed.
- At least 8 years of nursing experience, including 2 years as a people manager in oncology and/or case management.
- Oncology certification: Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN), Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse (AOCN), Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse Specialist (AOCNS), or Certified Case Manager (CCM).
- Essential comfort with technology: video chatting, Google Suite, Slack, and electronic health records (or strong willingness to learn new technology).
- Proven leadership/mentorship experience managing hourly staff and high-performing nurse teams.
