Salary: $83K – $174K (U.S. locations) or €44K – €126K (Spain)

What you will do

• Design and evolve backend services for secure, reliable cross-chain message execution across blockchain ecosystems.
• Improve protocol reliability for EVM chains by building resilient systems with security as a primary consideration.
• Reduce cross-chain transaction latency by optimizing RPC usage and overall protocol performance.
• Develop internal tooling to speed up diagnosis and resolution of production issues during incident response.
• Contribute to protocol security initiatives that strengthen CCIP resilience under adversarial conditions.
• Participate in technical design discussions to improve architecture and long-term scalability.

Requirements

• Backend engineering experience building and maintaining production systems with a focus on resiliency and operational excellence.
• Experience with Go, Rust, or TypeScript.
• Proven ability to design distributed systems with security and reliability as foundational engineering principles.
• Experience delivering software in crypto projects or remote-first engineering organizations.
• Experience collaborating in engineering design discussions and contributing to technical decision-making.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of DeFi protocols and the broader decentralized application ecosystem.
• Experience deploying or operating services using cloud infrastructure and tooling (containerized workloads, public cloud).
• Hands-on experience with blockchain bridges or interoperability protocols, including understanding bridge-specific security risks and attack vectors.
• Familiarity with non-EVM ecosystems such as Solana, Aptos, or Canton.
