TL;DR
Sr. Solutions Architect - Public Sector (Defense Industrial Base) (Databricks Data and AI Platform): Designing and implementing distributed data architectures, proof-of-concept solutions, and cloud integrations for U.S. Public Sector customers with an accent on data engineering, data warehousing, and machine learning. Focus on leading customer-facing technical evaluations, building reference architectures and demos, and guiding adoption of Spark, Delta Lake, and MLflow.
Location: Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, or Washington, D.C.; travel to customers in the region is required
Salary: $219,100–$301,300 USD annually, with potential annual performance bonus and equity.

What you will do
- Partner with sales teams to identify customer use cases and demonstrate how the Databricks platform addresses business needs.
- Provide technical leadership for customers evaluating and adopting Databricks.
- Design big data architectures and implement proofs of concept for strategic customer, data science, and machine learning projects.
- Validate integrations with cloud services and third-party applications.
- Build and present reference architectures, how-to materials, and demo applications.
- Promote Spark, Delta Lake, MLflow, and related open-source projects through developer communities, meetups, conferences, and webinars.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship is required to support U.S. Public Sector customers.
- 8+ years of experience in customer-facing pre-sales, technical architecture, or consulting roles.
- Experience designing and architecting distributed data systems.
- Comfortable programming and debugging with Python and SQL.
- Experience supporting Public Sector clients and building solutions with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience with data engineering technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, and Kafka, plus data warehousing concepts including OLTP, OLAP, and DSS.
Nice to have
- Degree in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or Operations Research.
