Data Platform Architect

Location: 100% remote within the United States

Salary: $140,000–$180,000 annually

What you will do

• Define and lead architecture for enterprise data platforms spanning ingestion, storage, processing, governance, and consumption.
• Set standards for data modeling, platform design, and data lifecycle management.
• Partner with data engineering, analytics, ML, and business stakeholders to deliver a scalable data foundation.
• Lead large data-platform initiatives across multiple teams.
• Drive governance, lineage, catalog, networking, identity, and cloud cost-optimization capabilities.

Requirements

• Must be based in the United States and authorized to work as a U.S. Citizen, Green Card Holder, EAD Holder, or H-1B transfer candidate.
• New H-1B visa sponsorship is not available.
• Eight or more years of data-engineering experience, including significant architecture experience; the position listing specifies 15+ years of overall experience.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Deep expertise in at least two major data platforms, such as Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, or Redshift.
• Experience with lakehouse architectures, modern table formats, streaming systems, Spark, Flink, or Kafka at production scale, plus data modeling and stakeholder management.

Nice to have

• Experience with data mesh or data product architectures.
• Familiarity with dbt Semantic Layer, Cube, or LookML.
• Experience in regulated industries with data residency or audit requirements.
• Cloud or platform certifications and public talks or writing on data architecture.
