What you will do

• Lead multiple exploratory through pre-IND research programs, ensuring timely delivery of milestones.
• Identify and explore new biological targets and pathways using emerging technologies.
• Design and validate 2D and 3D iPSC-derived and primary human skeletal/cardiac disease models.
• Characterize neuromuscular phenotypes in mouse models, including in vivo and ex vivo functional assays.
• Supervise and mentor junior scientists in the execution of complex laboratory studies.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for internal governance and external due diligence.

Requirements

• PhD with 5+ years of experience in drug discovery, muscle biology, or physiology.
• Deep expertise in muscle biology, disease pathophysiology, and translational research.
• Demonstrated hands-on laboratory expertise with willingness to maintain an active presence (approx. 30% effort).
• Experience with in vivo muscle function assessments and functional endpoints.
• Proven track record of leading multidisciplinary research programs in a matrixed environment.
• Strong communication skills with experience presenting strategy to senior leadership.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with gene-based or RNA-based therapeutics (LNP/mRNA, ASO, siRNA).
• Experience with small-molecule drug discovery, including target validation and lead optimization.
• Ability to interpret pharmacology, PK/PD, and efficacy studies.
