Salary: $116,800 - $146,000 USD

What you will do

• Lead in-lab efforts to create and develop novel nucleic acid-based diagnostic tests.
• Independently design and execute moderate to high complexity experiments.
• Coordinate experimental execution and analysis with statistics and bioinformatics teams.
• Document research progress under a Quality Management System.
• Interact with on-site CLIA lab, Sequencing, and Process Development groups.
• Communicate research progress directly to colleagues and senior management.

Requirements

• Degree in molecular biology, tissue or cellular biology, immunology, or a closely related field.
• M.S. with 6+ years of industry experience or Ph.D. with 3-5+ years of industry experience.
• Proven experience with next-generation sequencing (NGS) and DNA/RNA molecular biology.
• Proficiency with nucleic acid technologies including PCR, qPCR, multiplex PCR, and microarrays.
• Strong analytical skills with experience in Excel and basic statistical analysis.
• Ability to work on-site in South San Francisco.

Nice to have

• Experience with epigenetic/methylation, target enrichment, and cfDNA/RNA analysis.
• Track record of productizing novel nucleic acid techniques.
• Bioinformatic capabilities including programming (Python, PERL) and SQL databases.
• Experience developing tests in transplant assessment, oncology, or liquid biopsy.
