What you will do

• Lead the implementation and execution of new robot programs, including SOR preparation, design, and equipment buyoff.
• Design and integrate robotic systems to improve efficiency and support manufacturing operations.
• Deploy and optimize controls technologies, including PLC, HMI, networks, and vision systems.
• Perform simultaneous engineering activities in collaboration with Manufacturing Engineering and external suppliers.
• Provide technical direction and mentorship to less experienced controls engineers.
• Develop advanced robotic solutions for cutting, joining, handling, and laser applications.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Controls Engineering, or a related technical field.
• At least 1 year of experience in industrial automation, robotics, or vision systems (3+ years preferred).
• Proficiency in Fanuc robot programming (TP, KAREL, HandlingTool, vision guidance).
• PLC/HMI programming skills, preferably with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell.
• Must be authorized to work in the US; GM does not provide immigration sponsorship.
• Ability to work on the plant floor around operating equipment.

Nice to have

• Experience with Fanuc ROBOGUIDE simulation.
• Knowledge of CNC, conveyor systems, or general automation.
• Prior experience deploying vision-guided robotic systems in a manufacturing environment.
