What you will do

• Design and simulate optical components and subsystems for pluggable transceiver modules.
• Develop detailed component specifications and high-quality technical documentation.
• Evaluate optoelectronic components and subsystems using laboratory test setups to verify compliance.
• Perform reliability testing of optical modules according to Telcordia GR-468 and other industry standards.
• Collaborate with mechanical, digital hardware, firmware, and software teams to optimize product architecture and packaging.
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and volume manufacturing at contract manufacturing facilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
• Strong knowledge of Optical and Digital Communications Theory.
• Experience in the design and development of optical modules and sub-assemblies.
• Hands-on experience with optical component testing and system simulation tools.
• Proficiency in test automation and technical documentation.
• Must be based in Ottawa, ON for laboratory and manufacturing support.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Ethernet standards.
• Familiarity with Telcordia, IEC, and ITU telecommunications standards.
• Experience with optical component reliability requirements.
