Commercial Solutions Architect (dbt)

Location: Must be based in Austin, TX with an expectation of being in the office 2-3 days per week.

Salary: $140,000 – $200,000 USD

What you will do

• Lead technical pre-sales opportunities to uncover customer data challenges and demonstrate dbt Cloud value.
• Deliver tailored live demos and technical workshops to prospective customers.
• Collaborate with Account Executives to provide strategic input and build trust-based relationships.
• Represent the voice of the customer in internal product discussions and cross-functional initiatives.
• Contribute to team processes, playbooks, and educational content creation.
• Maintain ongoing relationships with technical stakeholders within assigned accounts.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience as a data practitioner or consultant in data operations or analytics.
• Strong technical foundation in modern data warehousing architectures and SQL.
• Must be based in Austin and able to work in the office 2-3 days per week.
• Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.
• Comfort presenting to diverse stakeholders in an externally facing role.
• Willingness to travel for events and relationship building.

Nice to have

• Prior experience with dbt (certification is a plus).
• Basic Python competency and advanced SQL knowledge.
• Proven experience in a pre-sales tech role.
• Experience with traditional ETL tooling.
