Data Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Remote within the United States; candidates outside the domestic U.S. cannot be hired. Candidates must be currently authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship or transfer.

Base salary: $135,000–$145,000 per year.

What you will do

• Build and maintain data pipelines relied on by internal teams and customers.
• Integrate with internal and external APIs to send and receive data.
• Orchestrate and automate workflows using Airflow on Kubernetes.
• Implement unit tests, monitoring, and alerting to ensure data reliability.
• Improve pipeline observability and efficiency, monitor production systems, debug issues, and document root causes.
• Clarify requirements with stakeholders, validate assumptions, contribute to design discussions, and identify functional gaps early.

Requirements

• 3+ years of Data Engineering experience and 3+ years of Airflow experience.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Working knowledge of Snowflake, Airflow, DBT, and GCP.
• BS in Computer Science or a related field.
• Current authorization to work in the USA without sponsorship or transfer.

Nice to have

• Experience in fintech, payments, or a related industry.
• Experience managing Airflow.
