Data Engineer / Migration Specialist (Databricks)

Location: Remote, USA

Salary: $110,546–$125,875 annually; some positions may also be eligible for bonuses.

What you will do

• Plan and execute data migrations from VistA, Maximo, and DMLSS legacy systems to modern platforms, including writing migration plans.
• Build ETL/ELT pipelines in Databricks using PySpark and Spark SQL, as well as VALIP.
• Maintain data mapping and validation plans and reconcile and validate data after each load.
• Mask and sanitize production data for lower environments.
• Support data extraction, analytics requests, and decommissioning of data archives.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in ETL, data migration, or database development; Mid / Level II.
• SQL and Python skills, including PySpark or Spark SQL.
• Experience with data mapping, validation, and reconciliation for migrations.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Ability to obtain a Tier 2 / Moderate Risk Public Trust and a VA PIV credential.

Nice to have

• Experience migrating from VistA, Maximo, or DMLSS.
• Experience with data masking for lower environments.
• Knowledge of HL7, FHIR, or EDI data formats.
• Maximo Deployment Professional certification.
• Databricks Certified Data Engineer certification.
• Databricks Certified Generative AI Engineer certification.
