What you will do

• Oversee the full maintenance program, including servicing, overhauling, and repairing transit equipment and property.
• Manage the employee lifecycle for drivers and maintenance staff, including scheduling, payroll, and performance management.
• Diagnose and perform complex repairs on engines, transmissions, and electrical systems.
• Coordinate inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and distributing spare parts.
• Provide technical mentorship to mechanics and ensure adherence to safety and documentation standards.
• Build and maintain relationships with vendors, partners, and internal stakeholders.

Requirements

• Must be based in Rochester, MN and available for 5 days per week on-site work.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in skilled mechanical work.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license and be at least 25 years old.
• Must hold an ASE Automobile Service Master Technician Certification for Medium / Heavy Truck or Transit Bus.
• Proficiency with maintenance software and Google Suite.
• Must pass mandatory pre-employment drug test, criminal background check, and motor vehicle records check.

Nice to have

• 3 years of supervisory experience in a mechanical or transit setting.
• Strong project management skills with a focus on process improvement.
