What you will do

• Lead and develop a team of engineers, creating an inclusive environment where people can thrive and grow their careers.
• Shape and deliver the technology roadmap supporting critical customer-facing digital experiences.
• Drive a culture of engineering excellence focused on quality, security, reliability, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with Product, Delivery, and Architecture colleagues to solve complex business and customer challenges.
• Balance innovation, technical debt, and platform sustainability to ensure long-term success.
• Mentor and coach engineers through meaningful development conversations and technical guidance.

Requirements

• Experience leading engineering teams within a modern Agile environment.
• Strong software engineering background with the credibility to guide technical discussions.
• Proven experience delivering customer-facing digital products and services.
• Proficiency with modern web technologies such as TypeScript, React, Node.js, or Nest.js.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, specifically AWS.
• Must be based in or able to work in a hybrid model in Liverpool, UK.

Nice to have

• Experience driving engineering best practices around CI/CD, observability, APIs, and platform reliability.
