TL;DR

Child Protection Officer (MHPSS): Coordinating and supervising mental health and psychosocial support activities for children and caregivers in Gaza with an accent on risk reduction and program implementation. Focus on supervising community workers, managing referrals, and ensuring adherence to CP best practices in humanitarian settings.

Location: Must be based in Gaza (North or South) and available to travel within the region.

What you will do

  • Supervise and monitor group MHPSS activities for children and caregivers to ensure alignment with program guidelines.
  • Lead the recruitment, training, and ongoing capacity building of community workers.
  • Implement risk reduction activities and manage the identification and referral of children at risk.
  • Coordinate with local partners, governmental actors, and other IRC sectors (Health, WASH, Nutrition).
  • Prepare weekly and monthly activity reports, work plans, and archive critical documentation.
  • Support MEAL activities to ensure program quality and contribute to the development of project proposals.

Requirements

  • Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education, Human Rights, or a related social science field.
  • 3-4 years of experience in implementing child protection and MHPSS programs in humanitarian settings.
  • Fluency in Arabic is required; good English skills are preferred.
  • Proven experience working with children affected by conflict, disasters, or other humanitarian crises.
  • Ability to travel within Gaza as required.

Nice to have

  • Previous experience supervising and coordinating a team.
  • Experience in capacity building and mentoring.
  • Previous experience in emergency response.
