What you will do

• Manage a caseload of Small Claims Track cases, ensuring all court deadlines are strictly met.
• Analyze evidence to develop initial case strategies regarding liability and quantum.
• Conduct negotiations with clients, insurers, and solicitors to achieve efficient settlements and cost apportionment.
• Draft court documents and witness statements, and coordinate with Counsel for briefing and instruction.
• Maintain accurate records in case management and billing systems in accordance with SRA Code of Conduct and ISO 9001.
• Guide defendants through the litigation process, managing their expectations and providing regular progress updates.

Requirements

• Must be based in or able to work in Bolton on a hybrid basis
• Established experience in law through professional practice or further education.
• Proven file handling experience within a law practice or insurance company.
• Strong understanding of the Highway Code and basic Road Traffic Act principles.
• Basic knowledge of the Court Practice Rules.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for professional legal correspondence.

Nice to have

• Experience as a Portal (MOJ / OICP) litigator.
• Experience managing non-personal injury or subrogated defendant litigation.
