Senior Software Engineer (Go/Python)

Location: Macquarie Park, NSW, Australia; hybrid arrangement with three days in the office and two days remote or from home.

Salary: $80 monthly credit, plus competitive remuneration.

What you will do

• Design and architect scalable automation and observability platforms for IP Core, Edge, Aggregation, and Optical network domains.
• Lead technical initiatives from concept through production and make decisions balancing performance, reliability, and maintainability.
• Provide technical leadership through code reviews, pair programming, mentoring, and knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate with network engineers, product teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to turn operational needs into technical solutions.
• Build and solve complex problems across streaming data pipelines, real-time processing, and AI-powered automation systems.
• Establish engineering standards, introduce technologies that improve efficiency, and participate in on-call and incident response.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least four years of experience building and shipping production software, preferably with Go and Python.
• Experience working in Linux environments and with event streaming platforms such as Kafka or similar tools.
• Experience with observability tools, CI/CD, databases, and RESTful APIs.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences.

Nice to have

• Real-time data processing experience.
• Experience with Grafana, Victoria Metrics, Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB.
• Familiarity with GraphQL, gRPC, AI/ML frameworks such as LangChain or PyTorch, and workflow orchestration tools such as N8N or Temporal.
