What you will do

• Act as technical lead for SOC products, developing high-quality, reusable low-level IP firmware and device drivers for MCU platforms.
• Define software architecture methodologies, standards, and best practices to ensure consistent and reusable APIs.
• Architect firmware solutions that support the full lifecycle, including RTL verification, virtual simulation, SoC verification, and post-silicon validation.
• Collaborate with HW architects and SOC designers to initiate firmware development in parallel with hardware design.
• Review hardware register definitions early in the process to ensure software usability and long-term maintainability.
• Mentor junior and mid-level software engineers, providing technical leadership and fostering a collaborative environment.

Requirements

• Must be based in or able to work onsite in Catania, Italy.
• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in architecture and/or firmware development for MCUs/MPUs.
• Deep expertise in MCU/MPU SW architecture, RTL bring-up, and driver design.
• Proficiency in C, C++, Assembly languages, and at least one scripting language.
• Experience with ARM processor subsystems, RTOS, and compilers.

Nice to have

• Experience leveraging AI capabilities to accelerate software development and documentation.
• Prior experience in a technical leadership role driving projects and influencing technical direction.
