Junior Embedded Software Engineer (C)

Location: Hybrid — Genova, Italy

Salary: €32,000–€38,000 annual gross, plus profit share or production bonus

What you will do

• Support the design, development, and maintenance of embedded software for industrial drives and inverters.
• Implement and modify C firmware for microcontrollers, real-time systems, and Texas Instruments TMS320 DSP processors.
• Debug and troubleshoot embedded software in laboratory and prototype environments.
• Support software validation and functional testing.
• Translate technical requirements into software specifications and maintain technical documentation.
• Collaborate with hardware, testing, quality, and technical support teams to investigate issues and define solutions.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
• Knowledge and experience in embedded software development.
• Strong knowledge of C, C++, and C#.
• Knowledge of Ethernet, EtherCAT, CAN/CANopen, CAN tools, and RS232 communication protocols.
• Strong communication skills for work in multicultural and international development teams.
• Excellent written and spoken English required.

Nice to have

• Experience designing electronic circuits and integrating microcontrollers into complex boards.
• Experience with VHDL firmware programming.
