Senior IT/OT Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Senior IT/OT Engineer (Cybersecurity/Networking): Leading the implementation of project-specific network and cybersecurity requirements for energy storage systems with an accent on TSO SCADA integration and OT infrastructure. Focus on designing secure network architectures, executing FAT/SAT tests, and managing cybersecurity vulnerabilities across EMEA.

Location: Germany - Erlangen (Travel throughout EMEA)

What you will do

• Lead project teams as a Subject Matter Expert in Cybersecurity, Network, and Architecture.
• Integrate BESS control systems into TSO SCADA systems, managing network configuration and communication interfaces.
• Develop and maintain documentation for network infrastructure, hardware, and cybersecurity strategies.
• Guide field engineers during commissioning and testing to resolve network-related issues.
• Perform FAT/SAT testing and evaluate prototype systems in lab environments.
• Manage interfaces with clients and sub-contractors to ensure network compliance during tenders and execution.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, IT, or Computer Science.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in OT/Networking within the power utility or electricity transmission sector (EMS/SCADA).
• Expert knowledge of OSI models, VPNs, Routers, Firewalls, and Switches (Cisco and industrial equipment).
• Proficiency in Linux, Python, shell/bash scripting, and GitHub.
• Knowledge of AWS, Openstack, and Docker.
• English: Fluency required (C1).
