What you will do

• Plan and execute system upgrades, hardware modifications, and post-installation validation for coating systems.
• Lead vacuum system maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance optimization for advanced sputter deposition equipment.
• Collaborate with engineers and operators to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
• Manage reconfiguration projects and preventive maintenance programs to support R&D operations.
• Maintain strict compliance with cleanroom protocols, safety standards, and operational procedures.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and uptime.

Requirements

• Expertise in high/ultra-high vacuum principles, leak detection, and gas flow dynamics.
• Experience with instrumentation including Pirani, cold cathode, and ion gauges.
• Strong electrical fundamentals and ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and PLC interfaces.
• Mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in equipment assembly and reading engineering drawings.
• Availability to work Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
• Must be based in or able to work on-site in Fremont, CA.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of pump systems: rotary vane, scroll, turbomolecular, and cryogenic.
• Experience with Helium leak testing and analysis.
• Familiarity with PLM systems, engineering change notices (ECN), and documentation requirements.
• Experience with automation and material transport mechanisms.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office for data analysis and reporting.
