What you will do

• Inspect, repair, and maintain diesel locomotive engines and mechanical components, including running gears.
• Test and restore brake systems, safety appliances, couplers, draft systems, and air compressors.
• Install, disassemble, assemble, and replace locomotive diesel engine components.
• Perform scheduled and preventative maintenance on tools, equipment, and locomotive components.
• Diagnose malfunctions in diesel engines, air equipment, and trucks.
• Operate within a safety-sensitive environment, often exposed to extreme weather and loud noises.

Requirements

• Must be based in or able to report for duty in Barstow, CA.
• Must have valid US employment authorization without company sponsorship.
• English proficiency (read, write, speak) is required.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license.
• Ability to visually distinguish colors (red, blue, green, yellow) and differentiate verbal sounds.
