Data Integration & Reporting Intern (Python, SQL)

TL;DR

Data Integration & Reporting Intern (Python/SQL): Supporting data management initiatives focused on extraction, transformation, and loading to strengthen program reporting with an accent on automation and data integrity. Focus on building automation modules using Python and SQL, automating recurring Excel tasks, and improving data reliability for the Efforts to Outcomes (ETO) database.

Location: Must currently reside in San Diego County (In-person)

What you will do

• Extract data from diverse sources including Excel, CSV, databases, cloud storage, and APIs.
• Perform cleaning, structuring, and standardizing of datasets (ETL processes).
• Develop Python scripts to automate recurring data management tasks.
• Automate Excel-based tasks using advanced formulas, macros, and VBA.
• Create key metrics and calculated fields to track and analyze program performance.
• Conduct data quality checks to ensure integrity within the ETO database.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in or recently completed a degree in IT, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Experience with Python (pandas, numpy, openpyxl), SQL, and advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to extract, clean, and transform datasets (merging tables, filtering, handling missing values).
• Familiarity with APIs for data retrieval and basic data modeling concepts.
• Must currently reside in San Diego County.
• Must pass a background check.
