What you will do

• Support case management for asylum seekers and families.
• Accompany clients to critical appointments such as health check-ups, legal consults, and school enrollments.
• Assist clients in navigating the San Diego public transit system.
• Conduct outreach, including the development of presentation materials.
• Network to build and develop community partnerships and collaborations.
• Perform screening calls to determine program eligibility for potential clients.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or Master’s program in social work, public health, public policy, social sciences, or a related field.
• Current driver license and insurance required.
• Must be based in San Diego, CA.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Steady and regular availability is required; flexible shifts are not suitable.

Nice to have

• Prior experience in case work or working with refugee and asylee populations.
• Proficiency in Farsi, Dari, Spanish, Pashto, Arabic, Haitian Creole, or Russian.
• Demonstrated success communicating with people of varied English-speaking abilities.
