Zoox is developing the first ground-up, fully autonomous vehicle fleet and the supporting ecosystem for urban mobility-as-a-service.

What you will do

• Transform existing fleet-simulation components into a coherent, self-service environment for data scientists and ML engineers.
• Develop the connectivity between simulation tools, data assets, and fleet-orchestration algorithms.
• Build generalizable mechanisms to measure the impact of orchestration algorithms on fleet efficiency.
• Collaborate with data science and ML teams to shape and prioritize the simulation roadmap.
• Establish best practices and processes for simulation, evaluation, and data-driven decision-making.

Requirements

• Software development experience in a production environment with fluency in Python.
• Experience building tools, services, or frameworks for non-specialist users.
• Proficiency with version control systems, preferably Git.
• Experience designing metrics and building mechanisms that provide actionable insights.
• Must be based in or able to work on-site in Foster City, CA.

Nice to have

• Basic familiarity with C++ and/or Kotlin.
• Experience with microservices and/or distributed systems.
• Experience with simulation or fleet orchestration (dispatch, routing, vehicle assignment).
