Backend Software Engineer for Simulations (AI)

Location: On-site in Rosslyn, VA; New York City; or Seattle, WA

Salary: $190,000–$210,000 estimated annual base salary, plus equity, bonus, and sign-on bonus eligibility

hirify.global builds TyrOS, an AI-enabled logistics command and control platform for military logistics, sustainment, inventory, distribution, medical, and operational planning.

What you will do

• Build and own production-grade simulation and forecasting software for the logistics forecaster.
• Implement mathematical models, numerical methods, and scientific formulas in production software.
• Integrate simulation capabilities into TyrOS workflows with the forecaster lead and platform team.
• Participate in technical design discussions and code reviews.
• Triage and debug production issues to maintain reliability and support rapid iteration.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and military stakeholders on real-world sustainment requirements.

Requirements

• 4+ years of software engineering experience in a scientific or mathematically complex domain such as sensor algorithms, motion planning, simulation, or forecasting.
• Ability to use mathematical models and numerical methods in code and reason about correctness through physics or mathematics.
• Proficiency in Python, C++, or Go.
• Strong production software engineering foundation, ownership, and bias for action.
• Math or science background through education or professional experience.

Nice to have

• Hands-on engineering experience at a defense-adjacent autonomous systems company.
• Degree or graduate degree in physics, applied mathematics, aerospace, or mechanical engineering.
• Experience with numerical simulation frameworks or scientific computing libraries.
• Experience deploying software to AWS, Kubernetes, and edge infrastructure.
